As part of South Africa’s retirement reform programme, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana recently confirmed National Treasury’s intention to amend the retirement fund system from 1 March 2024. The amendment is referred to as the “two-pot” system, and will see retirement savings separated into two “pots”, namely a “savings pot” and a “retirement pot”.

“At the other end of the malnutrition scale, obesity is one of today’s most blatantly visible – yet most neglected – public health problems,” the World Health Organization (WHO) warns. Moreover, March 4 marks World Obesity Day, and the World Obesity Federation reports that obesity affected “800 million people with millions more at risk” in 2022.
