Here are some important considerations before you go on your vacation:

• Ensure your home security is intact by checking your alarm systems, panic buttons and motions sensors before your trip.
• Secure all doors and windows to protect your belongings.
• Avoid leaving spare keys in easily accessible spots.
• Store your valuables by using locked safes fixed to the building.
• Unplug your unused appliances to prevent damage during power surges.
• Create an illusion of an occupied home by using timers for lights; have someone check your property and collect mail etc.
• Don’t share your travel details on social media to reduce the risk of potential break-ins.
• If your home is going to be unoccupied for more than 60 consecutive days, please inform your adviser and/or insurer as additional terms and conditions may be implemented on your policy.

For international travel: please ensure that all necessary paperwork is in order for border crossings: please let us know should you need a territorial letter for your vehicle/s. We also recommend that clients increase their car rental period or add car rental before the holiday season. Many vehicle repairers close over the holiday season, and this could mean a standard 30-day rental period could be insufficient.
