Overview of trusts and the use thereof in your will
We will focus on two basic types of trusts:
Intervivos trust
The trust is established by means of a written agreement between the founder and the trustees for the benefit of the trust and the beneficiaries.
Testamentary trust
The trust is created upon your death, based on a specific stipulation in your will that a trust be set up, who the trustees will be and what powers they will have. Read more here.

Creating a legacy of financial freedom for your beneficiaries
Estate planning involves structuring and managing your assets while you are alive, and putting measures in place to ensure your wishes are carried out after you pass away. It also ensures that there are no unexpected surprises your family will have to deal with. Although it is often perceived as the final stage of financial planning, it should instead be seen as a continuous process of managing your assets and liabilities throughout your lifetime.

Aggressive policy tightening fears, more sanctions on Russia weigh on sentiment
European shares retreated from multi-week highs on Wednesday as the West announced a coordinated response of additional sanctions on Russia, exacerbating global inflation. “The US targeted Russian banks and elites with a new package of sanctions that include (barring all Americans, irrespective of where they’re located) from investing in Russia, as well as a ban on venture capital and mergers,” Reuters reported. White House officials also said President Joe Biden was “signing an executive order that includes a prohibition on new investment into Russia,” to isolate it from the global economy further. The pan-European STOXX 600 Index shed 1.59%, tracking a global slump as concerns about a hawkish US Federal Reserve (Fed) also dampened sentiment.

One of the beauties of the arts is that you don’t have to be particularly good at them to participate – or benefit. In 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a review of more than 900 publications, finding evidence that the arts could “potentially impact both mental and physical health”, by “helping to prevent the onset of mental illness and age-related physical decline; supporting the treatment or management of mental illness, noncommunicable diseases and neurological disorders; and assisting in acute and end-of-life care”.
