It is astounding how much has happened since our previous edition. Steinhoff admitted to accounting irregularities that left local investors reeling. Cyril Ramaphosa was elected as the ANC president in December 2017, but it took until February this year before Jacob Zuma departed from the presidential office. While discretionary portfolios hold many advantages, the idea of giving up control can be a difficult stumbling block to clear.

Building a robust estate plan

Investment managers go to great lengths to plan ahead so that investment portfolios can withstand market volatility and unforeseen events that may have an impact on your investments. Defining the robust investor

I have argued in previous editions of The Wealth Perspective that volatility is here to stay, and recent events have certainly tested investors’ mettle. But there is a lot more to having a robust investment portfolio than just selecting the right manager. At PSG Wealth, we pride ourselves on being bigger picture thinkers, and it occurred to me that there is merit in exploring what defines the robust investor and what sets them apart from the rest.
